Thank you for sharing this! I haven't had this good a laugh reading a blog in a long, long time. I'm seeing this tough case... maybe I should contact my Representative to ask for advice? I won't ask him to micromanage my care, but hopefully he'll have some insights for me.

I'm really glad to live in a country run by idiots. Granted, you can only know so much about everything, but you think a congressman would have had this proofread by someone who knows an inkling about the subject to avoid stupid remarks like the one about the Orphan Drug Act. I mean, unless I misunderstood it and we're talking about helping out third world countries too...

Oh god oh god oh god. If Congress gets their mitts on antibiotics, expect epidemics that disable millions. No, I don't have a plausible explanation for how this will happen, but I'm sure Congress can pull off the feat. Maybe by taxing cephalosporins into extinction while subsidizing magnetic bracelets and pocketing money from the Quack Lobby?

Ken Jr: C'mon, the Orphan Drug Act makes perfect sense...you know, for those microbes that are rare and affect an unfortunate few but are er, affecting millions. Yeah!
