    I hate alcohol.

I despised taking care of alcoholics, even more so when I was in the depth of MY alcoholism. Nothing, I mean that--nothing is more valuable to me than my sobriety. 9 years this February, and the best thing I ever did for myself. Those pics are heartbreaking.

Only problem with mandated treatment is that there aren't enough facilities or staff to provide it.
Hell, it sometimes takes me 2 days to find a bed for someone who is actively suicidal.

This is truly the 'my hands are tied' scenario.
It still amazes me how many PREVENTABLE diseases and ailments we treat. And the treatments bleed our healthcare system as well as suck the life out of everyone and everything around them.
    Great thoughts.
    And yes.. CONGRATULATIONS NurseExec.

Wow, those patients are actually in pretty good shape, all things considered. I always wanted a separate monitor, tabulating the cumulative cost, except it'd be spinning faster than that Altimeter on Wile E. Coyote's diving Rocket Sled. And I'd bet a shot and a Beer every one of these patients will walk out of the hospital. Might be a little unsteady and with a $5million dollar bill, but they'll be walkin, right down to the nearest Liquor store...
