You're killing me here, seriously. I can't let these things slide.
No doctor provides "comprehensive care" for anything. Incidentally, if you "defer" to another physician, you're, by definition, not providing comprehensive care.
You slightly misused the word too, btw. I assume you meant "transfer care to" a hospitalist. Deferring to another physician would be moreso deliberately holding back your opinion/treatment recommendation on something for the more expert opinion of someone else, like if a patient asks you the chance they will die from their cancer and they have an oncologist who would be able to give them a more precise answer. "I will defer that question to your oncologist who I have asked to consult today."
